What to Expect

At St. Paul's we believe that Christ is present among us whenever two or three are gathered in His Name.  We believe that He is truly and substantially present the Sacrament.  We believe that He is the King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords who comes to us bearing gifts of wisdom, peace, faith, forgiveness, and new life.

Only God can give such gifts. Therefore, when we gather together, we do so in reverence.  We do so in humility and yet, because He is so gracious to us, we do so with thanksgiving and praise.

Because God is not a "god" of disorder, we have an order to our worship.  We uphold the ancient practice of closed communion, expecting communicants to stand with us in confessing the same faith.

Since He gives such precious gifts as the Absolution, Baptism, and His own body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins, we believe that these precious gifts be presented in a worthy way.  We therefore participate in the Historic LIturgy of the church, a form of worship formed out of God's Word and embellished with the confessional hymns of the church's history.

We come to confess our sins.  We come to confess that Jesus is Lord and Savior.  We come to receive the gifts of forgiveness, life and salvation as our merciful God bestows them through His bride, the church.

Expect to be greeted by the Pastor or one of the Elders beforehand.  We hope you will leave your name and number and that you'll be willing to speak with us about joining us as we confess the Faith.
